This is a very unique trunk. This is the first one I have come across that has the corner and center metals Zinc plated. Most trunks have a Black color metal on the corners, bottom, etc.. This Black coating is called japanned, and is achieved by coating the metal with a linseed oil mixture and then baking the part. The slat clamps and all other pieces are Zinc plated as well. In addition, this trunk has extra wide, grooved slats. New, 3 layer, stitched lid lifter and handles replace the damaged/missing ones. The interior has been sanded smooth and coated, to accept your fine linins and valuables. Of course the trunk has working latches, and lock with key. Trunk measures 30" long, 18" wide, and 19" high. A great looking, rare trunk that makes an excellent addition to any room or the perfect gift to a loved one.
